Undergraduate Admissions

General Information for Applicants

  1. An overall average of 60 percent on six OACs, Grade 12 U, and/or Grade 12 M courses is the minimum required for admission consideration. However, higher averages will be required for admission to individual programs in which the demand for places by qualified applicants exceeds the supply of places available in those programs.
  2. Please note that a minimum of 60 percent is required for all prerequisite courses unless otherwise specified.
  3. The length of time taken by an applicant to complete the OSSD will not of itself be a determining factor in the admission decision.
  4. Wilfrid Laurier University encourages high-school students to achieve as much breadth of preparation as possible in the course of their studies leading to the OSSD while also meeting the stated admission requirements of the post-secondary program to which they intend to apply.
  5. Grade IX Practical combined with grade III Harmony, RCM or the equivalent, will be accepted as one OAC or Grade 12 M music credit for admission. Submit appropriate documentation to your high school for official conversion.
  6. Wilfrid Laurier University adheres to the guidelines of the Ministry of Education and Training.
  7. It is expected that secondary schools will report students' standing to the university in terms of percentage marks for admission and scholarship selection purposes.
  8. Residence application forms are mailed only with the Offer of Admission.
