SP366 The Latin American Short Story 0.5

A study of selected stories by Latin American writers. The chosen stories are part of a literature in which the themes of 'magical-realism', exile, national identity, history, metaphysical fantasy and social struggle never stop flourishing. Some of the authors studied in this course are Juan Rulfo, Jorge L. Borges, Carlos Fuentes, G. García Márquez and Isabel Allende. (U of W - SPAN 366)

Prerequisite: SP262 (or U of W - SPAN 251B).
Exclusion: SP266.
