Course Description

MA141 Introduction to Applied Statistical Analysis 0.5

Numerical and graphical methods of descriptive statistics; basic probability; introduction to discrete and continuous random variables; sampling distributions, estimation and hypothesis testing; simple linear regression. Applications to problems in science are emphasized.

Exclusion: MA140*, MA240, BU205, BU255/EC255; BU275/EC275 taken prior to September 1, 1996; EC235, EC285; Honours Business and all Honours Economics programs; or any other statistical quantitative methods course.
