All fees are listed at the 1996/97 rates. All fees stated are subject to Board of Governors' approval and may change without notice. Fees are charged per term unless otherwise indicated. Taxes are not included. Fee increases will be in effect May 1 each year.

Notes:

  1. In March 1994, WLU students voted to have an extended health plan administered by WLUSU. This plan is offered to full-time students only, with the option of not participating is now available at an administrative cost of $6.00 (subject to change). All full-time students (including Fourth Year Co-op students on work term) will be assessed the full amount of the Extended Health Plan in Fall Term.
  2. In 1990, full-time students in the School of Business and Economics approved a $50.00 per term voluntary student contribution program designed to increase the computer facilities for students in the School. Accounts will be adjusted for students who do not wish to contribute and who file for an adjustment through the Dow Student Centre (P3117A) in the School of Business and Economics by the end of the second week of the applicable term.
  3. Late registration fees are charged to those students who do not complete their mail registration by the date indicated (see Academic Dates Section).
  4. Audit-course tuition fees are usually one-half of the regular course fee with a few exceptions which may be charged the full-course fee. Fees are not refundable.
  5. Penalties will be applied for all cheques returned to the University by the bank. Penalties will also be applied when MC/VISA payments are denied or incorrect card numbers/expiry dates are given.
  6. Music Accompaniment Fees are charged per course on a term basis. The amount charged is based on the type of accompaniment and the number of hours required for the course. Please contact the Music Department for further information regarding these fees.
  7. In the Spring of 1995, students in Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Computing and Psychology approved a voluntary student contribution program designed to enhance the educational experience and opportunities of students in science programs.
  8. The "Comprehensive Student Services Fee" is charged to full-time students at the rate of $110.00 per term but no full-time student will be charged more than $220.00 per fiscal year (May 1 to April 30). All part-time students are charged $44.00 per 1.0 credits taken at the Waterloo Campus. Full-time students who register as part-time students in any term of the fiscal year will not be charged more than $220.00 per year.
  9. UHIP is provided through the universities to all foreign students and their dependents. It is compulsory for all eligible participants and their dependents unless they have an approved waiver. UHIP is designed to pay the cost of the hospital and medical services which may be needed and provides coverage comparable to that of OHIP. Details on eligibility are available in the UHIP brochure. If you have not been billed for UHIP, please notify the Business Office. If you have been billed for UHIP, it is necessary to complete the required application form at the Business Office. Failure to comply with UHIP regulations could result in deregistration. Enrolment Guides are available in the Business Office.
