General BA Communication Studies Program Revisions:

Requirements:
This program consists of seven credits (three core credits and four elective credits):

  1. CS200, CS201/PY201, CS235, CS300, CS308/SY308, EN302.
  2. Four credits from the following list:
    AN210, BU208, BU352, BU388, CP102, CS104, CS202, CS204, CS205, CS207, CS208, CS209, CS309, CS310, CS329, CS340, EN204, EN205, EN208, EN223, EN227, EN228; any two of FS241, FS242, FS245, FS341, FS343; PO349, PS205, PS207, PS212, PS215, PS238, PS239, PY203, PY207, PY214, PY215, PY225.
  3. With prior approval of the Co-ordinating Committee, students may substitute Special Topics courses from other disciplines, for those listed under requirement 2 above.

Course Changes:

CS208 Graphic Design and Print Media 0.5

An introduction to the technologies of print production and basic principles of effective graphic design. Some consideration is given to design and digital communications, as well as to critical visual literacy. (It is recommended that students have access to a computer and be proficient in the use of a word processing software package.)
