A survey in English of the history of the former Spanish possessions in America, from the earliest times to the present, with emphasis on pre-Columbian cultures in Mexico and the Andean area. Several lectures on the role of women in Spanish America. No knowledge of Spanish required. (U of W - Sp. 217.)
