When the organizing committee chose the theme for OUCC 2016 – IT @ a Crossroads – it was unclear what kind of response this theme would receive from the higher education IT community. At Laurier we see IT and AV needs evolving constantly, and we often deploy new solutions to meet the challenges of an ever changing research and education landscape. In planning the theme of OUCC 2016 we assumed that many other institutions encounter similar issues and would therefore have a great deal to share about their experiences and lessons learned by facing these challenges. In assessing the dozens of presentation submissions the Program Committee received from across Ontario, it seems as though we were (luckily) right.
Even a quick scan of the list of breakout session titles suggests that OUCC 2016 will be filled with rich discussions about new approaches, new services, and what has worked for some and what hasn’t. The Program Committee has confirmed the OUCC 2016 program and it is now posted to the website with details about each presentation to help you determine which sessions to attend. There are two keynotes and 28 breakout sessions to choose from. There will also be plenty of networking time to speak with the presenters and other delegates if you find yourself trying to choose between two interesting topics.
