Faculty of Music
Regulations
- Application for the practicum should be made well in advance of the March pre-registration prior to the academic year in which the practicum is to be taken. Applicants should include a brief written description of the proposed project, prepared in consultation with a member of the faculty.
- Applicants will be considered for the practicum during any academic term.
- Students approved for the practicum will register for the full three terms: spring, fall and winter.
- A practicum project may cover two academic terms of part-time study and work.
- The number of credits in which a student may be enrolled concurrently with practicum shall depend on the amount of time required by the work term. Normally the work assignment is full-time; however, a minimum of 15 to 20 hours per week over one term, or 8 to 10 hours per week over two terms will usually satisfy the requirements.
- Students are required to complete a report on their practicum assignment.
- Students who elect the practicum must complete all academic requirements for the program in which they are registered.
