Writing Centre
Co-ordinator: Emmy Misser, MA, Ext. 3339
Office Location: Room 3-103, The Dr. Alvin Woods Building
The Writing Centre gives free writing instruction to both individual students and groups of students. The goal of the Centre is to help students develop their ideas clearly and logically and present them in an organized, coherent form.
The Writing Centre is open for individual appointments from 9 to 4 the first four days of the week. Students bring both marked papers and papers in progress for discussion and are encouraged to set up a series of appointments in order to work actively with the Co-ordinator on their particular area of difficulty. Appointments last approximately 45 minutes and should be booked well in advance.
The Co-ordinator of the Writing Centre also gives discipline-specific writing presentations on request. Generic writing presentations are tailored to suit the needs of each specific course and range from one or two visits to the development of a graded writing component in a course.
