MU117 Basic Materials in Music Theory II 0.5

An intensive review of the rudiments of music theory for students who have been admitted to an Honours Music or Diploma in Performance program. This remedial course does not count towards a music degree or diploma.

Prerequisite: Permission of the Dean.

MU352 Music Therapy Techniques I F 0.5

Development and implementation of practical skills, techniques, resources, and repertoire for making musical experiences available to clients. Beginning skills in clinical writing; historical study of music therapy approaches.

Prerequisite: Third Year standing in the Music Therapy program.

MU362 Music Therapy Techniques II W 0.5

Continuation of development of practical skills and techniques. Advanced skills in clinical writing including assessment, treatment planning, and evaluation procedures. Study of current and international music therapy approaches.

Prerequisite: MU352.

MU392A Practice and Literature of Church Music I F 0.5

Philosophy of church music, hymnology, psalmody, hymn playing, improvisation, psalm singing, carols, the church year, various types of performance, and instruments (other than organ) including handbells.†

Prerequisite: Second-year standing in a BMus program or permission of the Dean.

MU392B Practice and Literature of Church Music II W 0.5

Service planning and playing, the organist, the choir rehearsal, the organ, the total music program, weddings, funerals, employment, and repertoire (organ, choral, etc.).†

Prerequisite: Second-year standing in a BMus program or permission of the Dean.
