Honours Biology and Physical Geography

The Honours Biology and Physical Geography (BSc) program consists of a minimum of 20 full-credit courses (or equivalent), of which at most six may be at the 100 level. For progression into the second year of the program, a GP of at least 6.0 is required in each of BI100*, GG100* and GL100*; for progression into subsequent years, and for graduation, the cumulative GPA will be calculated on the Biology and Geography courses combined.

Required Courses:
BI100*, CH100*; CH200* or CH220*; GG100*, GL100*;
MA105, or both MA101 and MA102; MA141 or MA240;
GG251, GG254, GG280*; one of GG260, GG270, GG290.
Three Group 1 courses: GG336, GG379, GG381, GG382, GG383, GG384, GG385, GG386, GG388, GG389, GG481, GG482, GG486.
Two from: GG233, GG283, GG351, GG360, GG361, GG368, GG369, GG380, GG480.
Six senior Biology credits and one additional senior Geography credit as specified in Note 1. Pointer

Notes:

  1. Either BI490* or GG450* must be completed. If BI490* is chosen, then GG480 and one of GG395, GG396 or an additional Group 1 course must be taken; if GG450* is selected, then the senior Biology courses must include a 400 level credit.
  2. The Third Year Field Camp in Geography must be completed, but neither BI491 nor the Biology Illustration Workshops are available to students in Honours Biology and Physical Geography; however, Honours students are expected to attend all departmental seminars.
  3. Electives must include at least a half-credit from Curriculum Division A (excluding Mathematics).
