Special Regulations for General BSc Programs

In addition to the Regulations Governing all General Programs, and the requirements listed for particular programs, General BSc students must choose a program of study that satisfies the following requirements:

  1. The program must contain at least 3.0 credits from: BI100*; both CH110 and CH111; GL100*; both PC131 and PC132, (or both PC141 and PC142).
    General BSc Computer Science and Physics majors may substitute CP104 and CP114 toward this requirement.
    Kinesiology and Physical Education (BSc) majors may substitute CP104 and one of CP102 or CP114, for GL100*.
  2. The program must contain MA103 and MA104 (or another credit in Mathematics or Computer Science as described in the program description of the student's major).
  3. The program may not contain more than 8.0 junior (100 level) credits.
  4. Students in the General BSc must successfully complete at least 1.0 credit (or equivalent) from each of the following Curriculum Divisions: A-Humanities, B-Social Sciences, C-Sciences.
  5. In General BSc programs, GG101 may not be used to fulfill the Curriculum Division C requirement.
  6. The program must contain at least 2.0 senior credits in Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Mathematics and Physics, Division C Psychology courses, or in the courses identified as Physical Geography in the course description. Course credits fulfilling this requirement must not be in the student's (first) major subject, but may be counted toward a second major or a minor.
  7. The program must contain at least 11.0 credits from the following list: all courses in Biology (except BI101*, BI102*), Chemistry (except CH120, CH121, CH204, CH205), Computer Science (except CP102), Geology, Mathematics (except MA130) and Physics, and Division C Psychology courses, as well as courses designated as Physical Geography in the course descriptions. For Physical Geography majors, the list will also include GG395 and GG396. For Kinesiology and Physical Education (BSc) majors, the list may also include Division C Kinesiology and Physical Education courses, as well as CP102. (Refer to Regulation 1 above). For Psychology (BSc) majors, 1.5 credits of the 11.0 may be selected from any psychology courses. Other courses which cannot be counted towards fulfilling the requirement, or towards the BSc program, are: AS105*, SC101, SC102, SC103 or SC104.
